Practice Area: Workers’ Compensation
Workers unfortunately are injured from time to time. Injury on the job whether in the nature of neck or back strain, disc herniation, carpal tunnel, shoulder rotator cuff tear, knee cartilage tear, limb amputation or any other disabling injury is usually compensable under the State’s Workers’ Compensation Statute. Compensation includes weekly payment when unable to work, medical care to treat your injury and permanent disability benefits if your injury leaves you partially or totally disabled. The Law Offices of Stephen W. Lynn will help you and your family obtain the benefits you are entitled to under the law. Although the Workers’ Compensation Laws provide benefits they also provide technical defenses to the employer with injury reporting time requirements, claim filing time limitations and other defenses which could defeat your claim. You need a skillful attorney to guide you through the law.
Practice Area: Personal Injury
In the tragic event that you or a member of your family sustains an injury because of the carelessness or negligence of another it is important that you know your rights. Call the Law Offices of Stephen W. Lynn immediately. The injury may occur from an automobile or truck accident, slip or fall, dangerous and defective product, animal attack, or other situations. The law gives the injured certain rights and legal remedies. Although legal remedies cannot heal your injuries, they can provide monetary compensation for your medical expenses, loss of earnings and earning capacity, pain and suffering and other non-economic losses. However, the law also provides time limitations as to when your claim must be brought and other technical limitations and defenses which could jeopardize your right to fair and complete compensation. You need an informed and experienced attorney. Settlement of your injury claim with an insurance company or arbitration, mediation or trial to Judge or Jury are procedures my office uses to obtain fair and just compensation for the injured.
Other Practice Areas: Divorce, Paternity and Municipal Court Defense.
Divorce: Sometimes, try as they might, a married couple may not be able to make their marriage work and the legal dissolution of the marriage is necessary for each to start his or her life again. Many times there are children born of the marriage and the Court must address their needs and rights as well as the spouses. It is important in these matters to have a competent attorney you can trust and can speak frankly and comfortably with.
Paternity: There are occasions when the Court enters a judgment against a man without the benefit of DNA genetics testing finding him the father of the child and ordering him to pay monthly child support and provide health insurance until the child is of age. Often these men are really not the father but are victims of the system. These judgments can be attacked in Missouri within two years of entry. Let me help you establish that you are not the father and avoid an obligation that is not yours.
Municipal Court Defense: Occasionally an individual’s contact with the Municipal Court is a speeding ticket. However, other times it may be for a more serious offense such as drunk driving, careless and reckless driving, driving on suspended or revoked license, drug possession, carrying a concealed weapon or assault. In such serous charges the defendant may to jail for up to 6 months if found guilty. A conviction may cause you to lose your driving privileges. You should have an experienced attorney to defend you in these matters.
